I am a mature age Macquarie University student on the tail end of a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Creative Writing.

This site shows who I am and what I get up to.

 

Stories make our world interesting, detailed, beautiful, engaging, dangerous, exciting, worth experiencing and worth loving.

​

At the age of twelve, I began to emulate my favourite authors, and to develop a love for creative writing to the exclusion of all else.

​

Any opportunity to write at school was exciting because it inspired me with love and gave me the confidence to engage and ask questions. My inspiration grew from a love of exciting stories that made me see the world as something to appreciate. In my own writing, I always came up with something I liked.

​

I was interested in anything to do with words. I read all the fantasy books in the library. Reading, borrowing library books, striving for 100% in my spelling tests, script writing in drama class, creative writing tasks for ancient history, writing for short story competitions and asking the winners how they did it.

​

I was gently encouraged by my mum into borrowing library books, learning about and experiencing art, animals, nature, Australian poetry and all sorts of fiction. These were the influences that stayed with me as I grew up.

​

As I grew older, my mum asked me to take a look at my older brother's creative writing class work. His stories, his friends and his future wife were much better at writing than I ever could be, but I learned from the exposure. I was inspired to write, to imagine, to hope, to talk and to continue.

​

In my 20s, I found I could no longer read current popular fiction, and instead expanded to ancient literature, classics, Victorian literature and anything else I could find from the past. I began studying at university, but the world had other plans for me.

​

I expect to finish my degree at the end of this year.

​

I will be uploading completed old and new creative projects and generally sharing creative output, ideas and experiences.

​

It has proudly been drafted, edited and published through Wix.com since its beginning in 2018. The template web design is based off a cooking template - I never realised how stylish cooks are!

​

This site is still in a state of infancy and will take some time to grow.
